Differences Between ESD and Anti-Static?

ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) flooring tiles and anti-static flooring are both designed to manage static electricity in environments where sensitive electronics are present.

ESD flooring tiles are specifically designed to provide a controlled path for static electricity to dissipate, preventing the build-up of static charges and reducing the risk of ESD events that could damage sensitive electronic components.

Anti-static flooring tiles are designed to reduce the generation and accumulation of static charges on the surface, rather than providing a direct path for discharge like ESD tiles. Anti-static flooring tiles are often used in less critical environments where the risk of ESD is lower.

Electrostatic Dissipative Flooring

Protect Your Machinery and Components With Electrostatic Dissipative (ESD) Flooring

Industries and work environments that rely heavily on electronic equipment can easily be subject to ‘electrostatic discharge’, causing damage to equipment, data loss, manufacturing defects and financial loss.

Patented Flexi-Tile ESD (Electrostatic Dissipative) tiles are specifically designed to prevent damage to electrical devices by grounding the electrostatic discharge.

Safeguarding your company assets with Flexi-Tile ESD (Electrostatic Dissipative) protective flooring solutions can help to mitigate the associated risks – providing long term cost savings for your business.

How Does ESD flooring work?

The ESD tiles work by redirecting electrical discharge through stainless steel microfibres within the structure of the tiles.

Each tile is connected to a subfloor conductive grid with various earth points, eliminating potentially dangerous electrical current. Our ESD tile meets the safety standard BS EN 61340-5-1-2010.
