Business Warehouse Flooring – Case Study

Flexi-Tile was delighted to work on a recent warehouse flooring solution and project with our client XOCEAN, who were looking to refurbish their premises with hard wearing PVC floor tiles. Based in Louth, XOCEAN provide turnkey ocean data collection services using a safe, economic and carbon neutral platform, an Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV).

Requirements gathering

XOCEAN were looking for a new flooring solution as part of a plan to refurbish their technical centre and having reviewed our website, they arranged a site visit to our factory and showroom based in Lisburn to view the full range of PVC interlocking tiles and discuss the most suitable application for their industrial flooring requirements.

The project involved two separate areas that required new flooring – one area within the technical centre that was used frequently by forklifts and pallet trucks and a separate mezzanine area that was used for light foot traffic only.

Flexi-Tile 7mm – Having discussed the specific requirements of each area with one of our flooring experts, they decided to use Flexi-Tile 7mm for the technical area refurbishment. Flexi-Tile 7mm can withstand weights of up to 1000kg and is suitable for a wide range of industrial applications where heavy loads and machinery operate on a daily basis.

Our best-selling Flexi-Tile Dark Grey textured tile was used in combination with Flexi-Tile Yellow to clearly define certain areas within the space and provide a durable yet aesthetically pleasing finish.

Flexi-Tile 5mm – For the mezzanine area, we recommended the Flexi-Tile 5mm which is widely used and suitable for lighter commercial applications and perfect for areas of light footfall.

To ensure colour consistency within the overall space, dark grey tiles were used in this area as well – an effective and low maintenance option for walkways.
