After our recent acquisition of Belgian based Ecoloc Flooring, who pioneered interlocking flooring systems in the early 1980’s, we are delighted to announce the creation of ten new jobs with the relocation from their Spanish based facility to our Markethill and Lisburn based locations.
This will create 8 new jobs in our Markethill factory and an additional 2 in our Lisburn premises whilst trebling the size of Unicorn Mouldings – Flexi-Tile. Already exporting to many countries throughout Europe as it is, this can only be seen as a huge positive for the business.
Managing Director of Unicorn Group, Roger Pannell said “ In acquiring the successful Ecoloc brand Lock-Tile, we are now enabled to offer customers across Europe an unrivalled product offering. The acquisition strengthens the company’s distribution network and affirms the position as Europe’s largest manufacturer of PVC interlocking floor tiles. The market sector is growing, not just in Europe but also worldwide. By aligning all production in Northern Ireland, this indicates our commitment to the local workforce and the Northern Ireland manufacturing industry.”
Stephen Kelly, Chief Executive of Manufacturing NI was full of praise for the move, saying “We would like to congratulate Roger and the team on this exciting acquisition. This is great news for the company and indeed for manufacturing in Northern Ireland. It opens up new export markets but also increases our production capabilities at home.
“This big, brave investment, backing themselves and indeed the NI workforce to be successful is just the type of investment that we should be encouraging. We can, and frequently do, beat the world with our manufacturing, innovation and market development expertise and we are sure that Unicorn Mouldings will be the latest high profile success for Northern Ireland’s manufacturing base”.
Having recently been awarded Best Exporting Business at the Lisburn and Castlereagh Business Awards 2016, Flexi-tile is now in a stronger position to enhance their market position and excellent reputation within the manufacturing industry in Northern Ireland, Europe and beyond.
